COLSON Smith has opened up about his staggering 10 stone weight loss as he prepares to star in ITV’s The Games.
The Coronation Street actor, 23, will make his debut on the reality show tonight, alongside celebrities including Max George and Christine McGuinness.
Now Colson – who plays Craig Tinker in the soap – has revealed lockdown spurred him on to undergo a body transformation.
He said: “During lockdown I changed the way I look at life and changed the way I live my life, which changed my appearance.
“I lost weight and massively fell in love with running. Now it’s something I couldn’t possibly live without.”
Craig hopes to use The Games as a platform to show the public the real him.
More on The Games
He added to Metro: “It’s always weird when you get asked to do a show as yourself because I’m so used to hiding behind my character Craig in Coronation Street.
“I’ve wanted to show more of my personality for a while but it’s been a case of waiting for the right opportunity.
“With everything I’ve been through in the past two years, when The Games came up, it seemed too good to be true.
“It’s a different job to what I’ve been doing for the past ten years. I get to show everybody Colson and it’s related to fitness.”
Also competing in The Games are Mel B’s daughter Phoenix Brown, Strictly pro Kevin Clifton and Harry Potter actor Josh Herdman.
Newsreader Lucrezia Millerini, Love Island star Wes Nelson, Emmerdale’s Rebecca Sarker and Ryan Thomas finish the line-up.
