The Worrisome Trip to A&E
James Jordan, former Strictly star, recently revealed that he rushed his three-year-old daughter, Ella, to the hospital as she battled a very high temperature. Although initially sent home, the concerned parents made the decision to return to the Accident & Emergency (A&E) department as Ella remained unwell.
Long Nights and a Turning Point
Sharing pictures of Ella in her hospital bed, James explained the challenging experience they had been going through. He described how Ella had been fighting an extremely high temperature for five days and nights. On Wednesday night, her condition worsened, with her temperature reaching 40+. James took her to A&E around midnight, where a doctor diagnosed her with a viral infection and advised them to continue giving her Calpol/Ibuprofen and let it run its course.
A Second Visit to A&E
However, Ella's condition did not improve at home, and James described two more terrible nights of high temperature and vomiting. Worried about their daughter, they decided to take her back to A&E, despite concerns about wasting the doctors and nurses' time. This time, the experience at the hospital was different. Ella was quickly rushed to have an X-ray, which revealed a chest infection and tonsillitis.
Trusting Parental Instinct
Reflecting on the situation, James emphasized the importance of trusting parental instincts. He expressed regrets about not pushing harder initially but didn't want to come across as difficult. However, he believes it is a shame that incompetence sometimes necessitates being assertive. James also acknowledged the exceptional care provided by the hospital team during Ella's second visit.
A Controversial Perspective
James acknowledged that his comments about the NHS might not be well-received by some, but he emphasized his unwavering commitment to his daughter's well-being. James and Ola Jordan, who met in 1999 and married in 2004, left their mark on Strictly Come Dancing before welcoming their daughter a few years ago.
