JANE McDonald: My Yorkshire viewers have all said the same thing after a huge TV schedule clash.
The 58-year-old presenter explores the history and beauty of the county she calls home in the Channel 5 series.
The second episode of the series saw Jane get excited to meet Chris Witty from The Railway Children during a visit to Oakworth, the station which featured in the classic film.
Jane also visited the Howarth to learn more about the lives of the Bronte sisters.
However, Jane’s show was on at a busy time in the Sunday schedules, going up against the Trigger Point finale on ITV and the first episode of Peaky Blinders series six on BBC One.
A number of viewers took to Twitter to point out how they were spoiled for choice in what to watch, with many choosing Jane’s adventures.
One wrote: “This has got to be the best Sunday night for TV in ages. Peaky Blinders, Trigger Point, or My Yorkshire with Jane McDonald?? Spoilt for choice, truly.”
Another added: “You’re either watching Jane McDonald, Trigger Point or Peaky Blinders. We are all very different.”
A third tweeted: “Anyone else not really bothered about tuning into Peaky Blinders and rather be watching Jane McDonald’s My Yorkshire on Channel 5? 9pm.”
Meanwhile a fourth shared cheekily: “#television Jane McDonald: My Yorkshire at 9pm tonight. Can’t see anything else on at that time to stop her dominating the viewing figures.”
The Celeb Report first revealed all about Jane’s new show in November, and how it would be emotional following the death of her fiance Eddie early last year.
A TV insider said: “This is a deeply emotional journey for her, and not just because she was born and raised in Wakefield.
“It’s also the city where she met her fiancé, musician Eddie Rothe, and the place where he died earlier this year after battling lung cancer.
“So there are some incredible memories for Jane in Yorkshire, both sad and joyous, which are the backdrop for this very personal show.”
Jane McDonald: My Yorkshire airs Sundays at 9pm on Channel 5.
