JANE McDonald has admitted that she’s “not that keen” on travelling – despite fronting a host of travel documentaries.
The 59-year-old joined James Martin on his ITV morning cooking show last month to discuss her new album, upcoming tour and her array of successful travel shows.
However, the singer left the TV chef stunned when she admitted that she wasn’t the biggest fan of visiting far-flung destinations.
The chef quizzed the singer on the recent Channel 5 series Jane McDonald: My Yorkshire.
James asked: “Obviously you’ve toured around Yorkshire, what’s your favourite place because there’s so much to see?”
She replied: “I think probably Wakefield. I know it sounds a bit weird, but I love being at home.

“How the heck I’ve got a travel show, I’ll never know.
“I’m not that keen on travel, but I’m away such a lot, so my favourite place is my home when I get back and I can kick back and relax.”
James remarked: “You say you don’t like travelling, but I’ve been watching recently you did this amazing show in the Caribbean.
“You say you don’t like travelling, but it’s pretty special over there.”
Jane clarified: “Well, I do. I’m always on the go and I’m always away, but I’ve got such a great filming team.
“I jump in places and I have a good time and I like to get involved in what’s going on.”
Jane is due to set off on tour next month beginning with a Jubilee celebration in Scarborough.
She revealed she was thrilled to be asked: “It’s a time in history that we should all be celebrating – it’s going to be spectacular.”
The singer added that the Jubilee celebration marks the beginning of her tour.
Holidaying with Jane McDonald: Florida is available to watch on My5.
