Fans label the show as "nonsense"

JASON Manford's new game show, The Answer Run, has been slammed as BBC viewers pleaded with bosses for the series to be axed. The new gameshow follows contestants battling it out to win a big prize by accumulating a succession of correct answers from 50/50 questions. Hosted by comedian Jason, 43, he must guide the three pairs of contestants through 'The Run,' as they navigate the fast-paced general knowledge questions.

Contestants face challenges for cash prizes

The categories can vary from EastEnders to Dolly Parton, with the idea that viewers can play along at home. The questions each carry a cash value, ranging from £50 to £500, offering contestants the chance to win substantial sums. The team's success also relied on their reflexes, as they swipe on the right answer at the right time to claim the prize.

Jason Manford teases the show's excitement

Towards the end of the show, two duos faced off against each other and every wrong answer meant trading places for a 90-second round. Jason explained that their correct answers turned into golden blocks and luckily for the pair, they answered enough correct answers to build up the blocks and reach the total prize of £5,900.

Viewer backlash and calls for cancellation

Teasing the brand new BBC game show, Jason said: "We had so much fun filming The Answer Run earlier this year and the contestants across each episode were brilliant! However, some viewers blasted the show as "nonsense" and complained they couldn't join in at home. Viewers have begged the BBC to axe it after its first series ends.
