Jeopardy! adds Anderson Cooper, Dr. Oz, Savannah Guthrie & Sanjay Gupta as guest hosts 3 months after Alex Trebek death

JEOPARDY! has added Anderson Cooper, Dr. Oz, Savannah Guthrie and Sanjay Gupta as guests hosts for upcoming episodes.

The new additions come three months after longtime host Alex Trebek passed away.

The news hosts come after longtime host Alex died in November

The Jeopardy! Twitter account confirmed the news in a post on Tuesday.

“We look forward to each guest host bringing their unique abilities to the show and to our contestants winning a lot of money that we can match for charity,” said Jeopardy! Executive Producer Mike Richards in a statement.

Anderson, 53, is best known for hosting CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 and Anderson Cooper Full Circle, as well as acting as a regular correspondent on 60 Minutes.

Fans of the game show will be familiar with Anderson, as he has regularly competes in the Power Players Tournament on Jeopardy.

Savannah, 49, is best known for her work as a co-anchor on NBC’s TODAY.



Dr. Oz will also serve as a temporary host

Meanwhile, The Dr. Oz Show host is an attending physician at NY Presbyterian-Columbia Medical Center.

Mehmet Oz, 60, has won ten Daytime Emmy Awards for his talk show, while he has also written eight New York Times bestselling books.

The final guest host announced was Sanjay, 51.

The neurosurgeon has won Emmy Awards for his work as chief medical correspondent on CNN.

Additionally, he’s an associate professor of neurosurgery at Emory University and the associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

The new hosts will follow in the footsteps of current interim host Ken Jennings.

Over the years, Ken has become a fan favorite and is known for holding the longest winning streak on the game show with 74 wins.

Despite being well known by viewers, fans took to Twitter to slam Ken on his first night as host.

Once his reign as interim host comes to an end, journalist Katie Couric will serve as the show’s host for a week.



The show is trying to find a permanent replacement for beloved host Alex

Ken’s debut as host came just days after Alex’s last episode aired on Friday.

Alex hosted Jeopardy! for 36 years before passing away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80 on November 8.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jean, 56, and their children Emily and Matthew.
