Jeremy Clarkson teases ‘gory’ and ‘bloodied’ scenes in series two of Clarkson’s Farm

JEREMY Clarkson revealed the gory reality and hard side of farming in second series of the hit Amazon Prime show.

Jeremy is back for more agricultural antics down at Diddly Squat Farm alongside his team of helpers including, of course, trusty sidekicks Kaleb, Lisa and Charlie.

The amateur farmer has teased scenes that are hard to watch, including when he comes face to face with his nemesis: the badger.

In episode four entitled ‘Badgering’, the list of farming perils for Jeremy continues to grow.

Dilwyn the vet lays out the uncomfortable truth about Bovine Tuberculosis that could kill one or all of his new cows and it’s often spread by badgers.

Jeremy said: “The only people who absolutely hate badgers are farmers and people who work in the countryside.

“We thought, “What do we do?” because if you want to make a popular show you have to say, “Oh, look at the little cuddly-wuddly badgers.”

“But I thought: no, it’s a farming show, and you’d lose your core audience, the farmers, if you went around, saying, “Look at these sweet little animals.”

“So, I actually called them bastards and showed people what they actually do. It’s truthful. These are not nice animals.

“Do not be fooled by Brian May. This is what badgers do. This is how much heartache they’re causing to people who’ve worked for generations to build up a farm that’s been wiped out by badgers.”

He added: “You’ve got to put the badgers in and say how much damage they do.”

Talking about the effect the show has had on the farm, Jeremy revealed: “It’s been an extraordinary thing, not just in the UK, but everywhere.

“The farm is visited now by Americans, South Africans, Germans, Finns, Dutch – everyone all over the world. They’ve gone, “Wow, it’s amazing where our food comes from.”

Also in the series, the harvest season is about to hit Jeremy again – weather permitting.

But that’s not the biggest challenge he’ll face this farming year; the fallout from Brexit means UK farmers face uncertain futures, with subsidies disappearing and little or no guidance from the government about where to concentrate their efforts.

Faced with Council powers that be, Jeremy uses two of his greatest skills: diplomacy and respect for red tape.

Jeremy’s restaurant plans are in tatters, but that’s not the end of his dealings with the council, who are also sending letters raising issues about what’s being sold in the shop itself.

What will Jeremy do next? Can he find a loop-hole?
