Jeremy Vine viewer cuts off call with Nick Ferrari as he breaks down in tears over son’s tragic death

JEREMY Vine viewers witnessed an emotional moment when presenter Nick Ferrari took a call from a bereaved father.

During yesterday’s spin off show, Jeremy Vine Extra, broadcaster Nick debated numerous topics in the news with guests, historian and author Tessa Dunlop and Telegraph journalist Christopher Hope.

The panel were discussing Boris Johnson and party gate

One of the topics to discuss and debate was over claims Boris Johnson misled parliament regarding Partygate.

The former Prime Minster is due to appear before MPs today as they investigate whether he knowingly misled them over lockdown parties at 10 Downing Street during the Covid pandemic.

While discussing he topic, the panel on the Channel 5 show took an emotional call from David in Southport.

It was evident that he was struggling to fight back tears as he revealed he’d lost his son in 2020, and spoke about the guidelines at the time around attending his son’s funeral.

He said: “On the 13th of November 2020 I went to my son’s funeral at 3 o’clock in Southport. And by all accounts, at five o’clock the Prime Minister’s wife was dancing around Number 10 singing the Winner Takes It All to the dismissal of Dominic Cummings.”

Veteran presenter Nick, 64, offered his condolences adding there are “no words,” but went on to ask David how it makes him feel if the claims about partygate prove to be accurate.

Evidently distressed, David slammed Boris, and said: “We kept to the rules…We were only allowed six people at the funeral including his Mum and Dad. I couldn’t even sit next to my wife properly.”

Delicately asking for a little more information, Nick enquired: “When you see Boris Johnson on the TV or you see those images of the parties, what goes through your heart, sir?”

David replied: “I’m sorry, I can’t stand the man. I despise him completely. He has been proven a liar and a cheat. Whatever you want to call him, that’s Boris.”

Overwhelmed, David apologised and ended the call. Nick gently ended the discussion and said: “Ok sir. Again, condolences, of course, from Tessa, from Chris and from all the team here.”

Jeremy Vine Extra airs weekdays at 12.45pm on Channel 5.
