JERSEY Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi admitted she “needed a break for her soul” as the star retuned to the series.
The 33-year-old previously left during the last season of the MTV show.
Shortly after it was revealed that Snooki is returning for the upcoming season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the TV personality took to her Instagram Story to explain why she temporarily left the show.
Alongside a snap of her cheering, Snooki wrote: “Super excited to be back with my roomies.
“I truly missed everyone and the show.
“I don’t regret leaving, because I truly needed a break for my soul and to just be a mom.
“But coming back has shown me how much I love this show and my besties.”
She continued: “I appreciate all of your support and understanding.
“Mawma needed a break, but now Mawma is back to bring the party for you & all the good vibes.”
Snooki’s return was confirmed with an epic cake-popping entrance in the season trailer.
She first sparked rumors of a return earlier this year after she was seen filming with ex-castmate, Angelina Pivernick.
Snooki and Angelina never really got along, and their tensions came to a head when Snooki, Deena Cortese and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, gave a roasting speech at her wedding.
The reality star also shared the news on her Instagram, writing: “I’m back, b***hes!!! I’m bring the party back when #JSFamilyVacation returns Jerzday, June 3rd on MTV!”
The whole cast will be heading to the Poconos for the second half of season 4, after going to Las Vegas for the first half last year without Snooki.
In addition to Snooki’s grand entrance, the trailer also teased new engagements, babies and lots of partying.
Shortly after her return to the show was announced, an insider exclusively told The Celeb Report that Snooki “missed the money.”
The source noted that one other factor played into her decision, adding: “ She thought the show wouldn’t go on without her and when it did and the cast was still thriving, she came back.”
The retail store owner left the series in 2019 and said at the time she even declined shooting a spinoff.
She and her husband, Jionni, share children Lorenzo, eight, Giovanna, six and Angelo James LaValle, who will be two later this month.
