FANS of former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson were left furious after her cousin failed to get through on The Voice UK.
Jamie-Leigh Nelson, 34, surprised Little Mix fans with a blind audition on the long-running talent show.
Prior to her performance, Jamie-Leigh spoke briefly about being inspired by her famous relative – presumably before Jesy’s December departure from the group took place.
She said: ”There are people in the family that are definitely musical, one of my cousins is Jesy from Little Mix.
“I just see her work so hard, she really really wanted it and she went out there and got it, and it made me think, ‘Do you know what, if she can do it, then I can do it’.
“They have done so, so well, I am proud of her.”
The Voice UK’s blind auditions require judges Tom Jones, will.i.am, Anne-Marie and Olly Murs to face away from the hopeful contestant, listening only to their vocals.
And as blonde beauty Jamie-Leigh took to the stage, she delivered a brilliant performance of N-Trance’s hit Set You Free.
Judge Olly Murs even said she had “amazing range”.
However, Jesy’s cousin was left disappointed as all four of the judges failed to turn around.
She said after the verdict: “I really enjoyed it, I gave it everything, and that’s all you can ask for.
“Obviously I am disappointed, but I am proud of myself, because I’ve never done anything like this before, so to go out there and have the confidence to sing and do it.”
Viewers were left furious with the coaches, with one writing on Twitter: “What how did the coaches not turn for Jamie Lee. Her voice was brilliant she was robbed. I loved the blend of disco and powerhouse vocal.”
Another added: “Again no one turned. They’re all loving it ! It’s ridiculous”.
