Jon Kay left red-faced as Sally Nugent calls out his 'terrible admission' live on BBC Breakfast

Jon Kay, the 54-year-old journalist, was left embarrassed on BBC Breakfast this morning when his co-host Sally Nugent called out his "terrible admission" on live television.

Forgotten jacket

During the show, Jon and Sally threw to Carol Kirkwood for the weather report. Carol informed them and the viewers that the rain would soon stop. Sally replied, "We're ready for it, Carol."

However, Jon then confessed that he had forgotten to bring his winter jacket to work. He said, "I'm glad you are. I don't have my coat with me." This admission left Sally confused, and she asked him why he didn't bring his jacket.

Jon replied, "I've only got my gilet." Sally couldn't help but laugh at his predicament, and Jon jokingly said, "Well, that was a terrible admission to make in public, wasn't it?" Trying to move on from the embarrassing moment, he quickly added, "Right, let's move on."

Last time presenting together

In another BBC Breakfast news, Luxmy Gopal and Ben Boulos, who usually host the show on weekends, announced that it was their last time presenting together for this year. Luxmy, 31, took to social media to thank fans for their support and mentioned that they would be back in 2024, correcting her earlier mistake of saying 2023. She jokingly added that she was just testing if the viewers were paying attention and assured them that she was not a year behind.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
