She shared a snap of the one-year-old on Instagram

Fans criticized the mother in the comments section of the post

While taking to Instagram, Joy-Anna posted a number of photos of her family at the game.

The first snap was a selfie of Joy-Anna and her husband Austin Forsyth, 27, which was followed by another selfie with her friends.

The third photo was a close-up of Evelyn as she put her mouth right up to the gate, while the post concluded with a snap of the couple’s three-year-old son Gideon happily riding a tricycle.

The Counting On alum captioned the post: “First softball game of the season & first win of the season! We’re off to a pretty good start!

The caption concluded with the hashtag #firsttimesoftballplayer.

While many of Joy-Anna’s followers noted how “fun” the day looked, other rushed to the comments section to slam the former TV personality for letting Evelyn’s mouth touch the gate.

One person wrote: “I love the pictures.. she shouldn’t put her mouth on that nasty gate…”

Another expressed their concern that Evelyn could contract a “mouth disease.”

POKING FUN

However, others poked fun at the backlash as one person wrote: “Building immune systems one gate at a time!”

A following person commented: “Looks like a fantastic way to build the Immune system to me… Are used to catch my toddlers eating ants and sucking on rocks, LOL…They never get sick now either.”

“These are the cutest pictures! We country mama’s understand God made dirt,” an additional fan wrote.

JOY-ANNA’S PARENTING BASHED

The backlash is not the first time the Counting On star has been slammed for her parenting decisions.

Back in June, the mother was criticized for recording herself on her phone while driving with her children.

Alongside a clip that showed her explaining her childrens’ first experience in a car wash, she wrote: “Taking Gideon through a drive-thru car wash for the first time… watch his reaction!”

In the clip, she asked Gideon if he was ready to go through.

He said he was, so the proud mom then said he did great when it was over.

While Joy-Anna was clearly proud of her son, some of her fans slammed her for recording the moment.

One concerned fan commented: “Please please PLEASE don’t video record yourself/work you phone/camera while you are driving, especially with kiddos in the car…it can be so dangerous. Kids reaction to the car wash was adorable.”

Later in July, the TV personality’s husband was slammed for trying to “scare” Gideon with a leaf blower.
