Justin Bieber slammed for not acknowledging wife Hailey or thanking her in speech after Best Pop Song win at MTV VMAs

JUSTIN Bieber was slammed for not acknowledging wife Hailey Bieber or thanking her at all in his acceptance speech after winning big at tonight’s MTV VMAs.

The pop star gave his spouse a cold shoulder as his name was read – turning his back towards the model as he won while thanking a long list of names on stage with no mention of Hailey.

Justin Bieber was slammed for not acknowledging wife Hailey Bieber at the MTV VMAs

The pop star thanked a long list of names but snubbed wife Hailey on stage

In one of the first awards of the night at Barclays Center in New York City, Justin, 27, picked up the Moon Man trophy for Best Pop Song for his smash hit, Peaches.

As music icon Cyndi Lauper read Justin’s name for the honor, he smiled and immediately leaped out of his seat – turning his back on his wife and not hugging her.

The pop star then took the stage with collaborator Giveon and gave a shoutout to a long list of names but did not acknowledge Hailey – who watched and smiled on from the audience.

“Shout out to my little brother and sister Jazzy and Jackson,” Justin began.

He continued: ”Shoutout to my mom and dad, Faye, Ash my grandparents, thank you guys so much,” and then walked off stage.

Fans noticed the snub, with many slamming the singer for the “rude” move.

“Justin Bieber not looking at hailey when he won and then no shoutout physically caused me pain,” one person said.

Another tweeted: “Hailey is supporting Justin Bieber and he didn’t shout out to her or giving her any attention when he won, rude.”

“Not justin not even hugging or kissing hailey after winning AND him shouting out absolutely everyone but his wife,” a third wrote.

A Twitter user exclaimed: “Justin not mentioning Hailey’s name in his thank you speech is so messed up!!!”

“Per the theory for Justin Bieber disliking his wife, during his VMA acceptance speech just now, he thanked everyone but did not thank Hailey. Big yikes,” another speculated.

Later in the evening, Justin won another trophy for Artist Of The Year and appeared to have seen the backlash as he immediately gave his wife a kiss before he went on stage.

In his speech, he made a note to thank her and said: “We are in unprecedented times with this Covid thing. It’s a big deal.

“Music is such an amazing outlet in order to reach people and bring people together. That’s why we’re all here together.

“We have a lot more in common then we don’t. Thank you guys so much. I look over here.

“And I see my beautiful wife and I just want to say ‘thank you so much.’”

After years of off-and-on dating, Justin and Hailey got in engaged in July 2018 and wed in New York later that year.

They then tied the knot a second time at a lavish celeb-packed ceremony in South Carolina in 2019.

The couple regularly share loved-up snaps on social media, take part in steamy photoshoots and gush about each other in interviews.

Back in March, Justin exclusively told The Celeb Report that Hailey “saved” him when he was feeling “unstable”.

He said: “One of the tracks on the album [Justice] is called Unstable, and for me it’s a really emotional song because I was in a really, really bad place — maybe a year ago.

“Fortunately my wife was just there for me through it all and so the whole message of the song is ‘You loved me when I was unstable’.

“She really held me down and, you know, just continued to love me through a really challenging, hard season that I’d been in — so the person in the song, that was me.”
