KATE Garraway has revealed why she wasn’t on Good Morning Britain yesterday, saying she had “urgents” to attend to at home.
The 54-year-old star was replaced by Charlotte Hawkins on Friday’s edition of the ITV show.
Kate usually hosts Good Morning Britain at the end of the week alongside old friend Ben Shephard.
Posting on Instagram today ahead of the airing of her pre-recorded Saturday morning series Garraway’s Good Stuff, the star explained why she wasn’t on air.
Kate wrote: “So apologies for my abscence from @gmb this last week – had to deal with some “urgents” at home.
“But before that managed to get a whole hour dollop of #garrawaysgoodstuff in the bag for you.”

Kate combines her role as one of ITV’s biggest stars with caring for her husband Derek Draper, also 54.
He was hospitalised with Covid in March 2020 and still remains seriously incapacitated six months after returning to the family home.
Fans replied to Kate’s message with their good wishes. One wrote: “Lots of love Kate hope derek n kids ok xxxxx.”
Other said: “Do hope everything is ok
” and: “Hope all OK with Derek can we have a update
.”
Kate often gets up every two hours in the night to help the overnight carer to move him in bed, and she has to wash and change his bed linen seven times a day.
She juggles that with getting up in the early hours to host Good Morning Britain and looking after their two children.
Kate and Derek share daughter Darcey, 16, and Bill, 12.
Viewers got to see the star – albeit in pre-recorded form on Garraway’s Good Stuff today where she interviewed singers Peter Andre and James Bay.
