KATE Garraway beamed from ear to ear on today’s Good Morning Britain as she was given a birthday surprise.
The presenter turned 55 yesterday but hasn’t been able to celebrate it properly because of dramas at home.
Her co-host Adil Ray neatly segued from Real Madrid’s Champions League celebrations after beating Man City last night by asking her: “Were you celebrating recently?”
Kate said: “It was my birthday yesterday. I don’t feel like it’s happened really as we’ve had various dramas at home.”
In a bid to cheer her up, a birthday message appeared on the big screen and a delicious cake was brought out as Adil and Ranvir Singh wished her a happy birthday.
Kate smiled: “That is fantastic thank you.”
She added that her parents were visiting today and they would celebrate over the weekend.

Awkwardly, Adil revealed it was his 48th birthday last week and pointed out he didn’t receive any fanfare.
Kate was replaced by Charlotte Hawkins on Friday’s edition of the ITV show.
Posting on Instagram ahead of the airing of her pre-recorded Saturday morning series Garraway’s Good Stuff, the star explained why she wasn’t on air.
Kate wrote: “So apologies for my abscence from @gmb this last week – had to deal with some ‘urgents’ at home.
“But before that managed to get a whole hour dollop of #garrawaysgoodstuff in the bag for you.”
She combines her role as one of ITV’s biggest stars with caring for her husband Derek Draper, 54.
He was hospitalised with Covid in March 2020 and still remains seriously incapacitated six months after returning to the family home.
Kate often gets up every two hours in the night to help the overnight carer move him in bed, and she has to wash and change his bed linen seven times a day.

She juggles that with getting up in the early hours to host Good Morning Britain and looking after their two children.
Kate and Derek share daughter Darcey, 16, and son Bill, 12.
