Katie Price jokes she can ‘burn a cup of tea’ after signing up to Celebrity MasterChef

KATIE Price has joked she’s got the special skill of being able to “burn a cup of tea” after signing up to Celebrity MasterChef.

The mum-of-five will rattling pans in the kitchen as she takes part in the BBC cooking show later this year.

Katie, 42, will put on a white apron to be judged alongside the likes of Blue star Duncan James, Towie’s Megan McKenna and Stacey Solomon’s fiance Joe Swash.

But as she announced the news to her social media followers, alongside a picture of herself in the iconic kitchen, she joked: “It has been said that I could burn a cup of tea….this should be interesting @BBCOne @MasterChefUK #masterchef”.

And there was a mix of reactions from her fans, with some agreeing that her skills in the kitchen left much to be desired.

“oh god I HAVE to watch this,” said one, smattering the comment with a series of laughing emojis.

Another commented: “I’m sure you will do great!”

A third added: “After watching you bake cakes with Harvey I agree this will be interesting [Rolling on the floor laughing emoji]”.

As usual, Gregg Wallace and John Torode will be in charge on the celebrity version of the cooking programme, while guest chefs including This Morning’s Nisha Katona will be judging their talents.

Fans will definitely be tuning in to see Pricey – who says she’s honed her skills cooking for her “fussy” children – whipping up dishes.

A source told The Celeb Report: “Katie’s really excited for people to see a different side to her – she’s actually a really good cook, and wants to show off her kitchen skills.”



This week Katie announced her engagement to boyfriend Carl Woods

It’s been a week of good news for Katie, who announced her engagement to boyfriend Carl Woods, 31, after ten months of dating.

On Monday night Katie showed off her ring in a photo shared to both her and Carl’s Instagram with the caption: “I said yes.”

On her SEVENTH engagement, a source told The Celeb Report: “Katie has been down this road many times before but she has no reservations about taking the plunge with Carl.

“She’s a true romantic and, in him, she thinks she’s finally found the one.”

Katie’s divorce from third husband and ex-stripper Kieran Hayler, 34, was made official only last month.

She was previously married to Peter Andre, 48, from 2005 to 2009, and cage fighter Alex Reid, 45, from 2010 until 2012.

Katie first got engaged to former Gladiator Warren Furman, 48, in 1997.

She was also engaged to Argentine model Leandro Penna, 35, for eight months in 2012 and fitness coach Kris Boyson, 31, in July 2019 before their 19-month relationship ended the following December.
