KELLY Clarkson has filed to legally change her name to “Kelly Brianne” after going through a nasty divorce war with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
Kelly, 39, has decided to make a name change for herself on Valentine’s Day.
According to the court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the former American Idol star is expected to be donned the new name of Kelly Brianne.
The Kelly Clarkson Show host reportedly stated in the documents that her new name is a supposed “desire” to be recognized by her first and middle names.
She claimed: “My new name more fully reflects who I am.”
A hearing regarding the name change is scheduled for March 28.
According to court documents filed back in August 2021, Kelly was declared single and her maiden name had been reinstated.
The From Justin To Kelly star filed for divorce from her former husband Brandon, 45, back in June 2020.
The former couple shares daughter River, seven, and son Remington, five.
Kelly had cited “irreconcilable differences” before she won primary custody of their two kids.
THE CUSTODY BATTLE
The court had previously declared: “The parties have a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.”
The pop singer was officially granted a divorce back in September 2021.
Brandon would still be able to video chat with his kids every day.
As for the holidays, the two children would spend Christmas with their father and then celebrate the New Year with their mother.
THE RANCH FEUD
Back in December 2021, the Because of You singer reportedly lost her attempt to evict her former partner from her $10.4million Montana ranch.
Brandon claimed he could not afford to buy his own house and was allowed by the courts to remain at the Vintage Valley Ranch.
Although Kelly is the sole owner of the ranch, their legal battle fell under the prenup the exes shared.
The judge reportedly decided against the music manager from being evicted from the premises.
Back in November 2021, Kelly claimed during a virtual hearing that Brandon refused to vacate from the property, according to Us Weekly.
A source told the outlet: “Kelly recently had a major legal setback in a bid to get Brandon evicted from the Montana property that the judge awarded solely to her.
“He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce.”
The insider added: “The judge sided with Brandon and ruled in his favor. The order just hasn’t been formally signed off on.”
