KIRSTIE Allsopp’s Location, Location, Location has been branded fake by an ex employee who also revealed her “diva” demands.
A former researcher alleged the 50-year-old’s property show “cons” viewers.
The ex-employee on the popular Channel 4 series also claimed Kirstie and co-star Phil Spencer, 52, are not involved in researching homes.
They told the Mirror: “Contributors take part in the trust of having Kirstie and Phil’s help. This is a lie… even though we film them looking in estate agents’ windows.
“I felt guilty seeing the contributors’ faces all lit up. They are waiting, excited to meet Kirstie.
“Even at this stage Kirstie and Phil have no idea what they are looking for or what we found them.”
The researcher, who has remained anonymous, also took umbrage with Kirstie’s on-set behaviour.
They said in a scathing rant: “I was given strict orders Kirstie must have specific snacks – Green & Black’s chocolate, San Pellegrino water, nuts and fruit. And lunch had to be up to standard.”
A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: “Each search is supported by a team, all of whom are named in the programme credits. They, and Kirstie & Phil find suitable properties.
“Ultimately Kirstie and Phil have the final say on the properties featured.”
Kirstie was slammed by Piers Morgan last week and labelled ill informed after claiming that young people could afford a first home by forgoing Netflix and gym memberships.
In comments to The Celeb Reportday Times, she said she felt “enraged” when people said they could not afford a house.
The Location, Location, Location presenter said young people could raise the money to buy property if they gave up luxuries such as coffees and foreign holidays and looked at cheaper areas.
Piers Morgan tweeted: “Every time Kirstie Allsopp trends, I check why and see she’s said another unbelievably stupid, ludicrously ill informed and woefully privileged thing.”
Matthew Lynn, the financial columnist, wrote in The Spectator: “She is ignoring the bigger picture.
“First, decades of planning restrictions have meant we have not built nearly enough homes.
“Second, a decade of flat interest rates has inflated every form of asset market, sending prices through the roof.”
Allsopp bought her first property with family help at the age of 21.
She defended her comments on Twitter, saying: “Housing is the most serious issue in the UK today.
“It impacts everything: education, health, relationships, pensions, fertility, the environment, productivity etc etc.”
