Kit Harington to ‘reprise Game of Thrones role’ in Jon Snow spin-off series

KIT Harington is set to reprise his Game of Thrones role in a Jon Snow spin-off series according to reports.

The 35-year-old actor played Jon in the original HBO series from 2011 until it ended in 2019.

Kit Harington has reportedly signed up to reprise his Game of Thrones role in a new sequel

Kit played Jon Snow in the hit HBO series which came to an end in 2019

While a prequel series, House of the Dragon, has already been filmed and is set to air in August, the network is now working on its first sequel to Game of Thrones.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Kit is attached to the project, which will centre around his character following the events of GoT’s final season.

In it, fans saw Jon finally learn his true name was Aegon Targaryen, a potential heir to the Iron Throne.

The final episode saw him kill Daenerys Targaryen despite them becoming lovers in a bid to stop her murdering more innocent people in her bid for the Iron Throne.

Jon was then exiled from Westeros and journeyed North of the Wall with the Wildlings.

During the show’s run, Kit was nominated twice for an Emmy for his role.

Since the end of the original series, Kit has appeared in Marvel’s Eternals in 2021 and appeared in an episode of Criminal: UK.

Meanwhile, the star became a father for the first time in February 2021 when his wife – former GoT co-star Rose Leslie – gave birth to their son.

The news of a potential Jon Snow spin-off means there are seven GoT projects in the works in addition to House of the Dragon.

The Hollywood Reporter listed that the projects in various stages of development are 10,000 Ships (aka Nymeria) 9 Voyages (aka The Sea Snake) and Dunk and Egg.

There are also three animated prequel projects, including The Golden Empire.
