Laura Hamilton's plea to fans
Laura Hamilton, the presenter of A Place in the Sun, has revealed that she has been targeted by 'disgusting' scammers who are trying to con her fans out of money. Last year, she was forced to issue a plea to fans to block fake accounts pretending to be her.
Scammers taking it a step further
According to Laura, the con artists have now taken a step further and are conning her followers out of money by pretending to fundraise for the London Marathon she ran in honor of her colleague Jonnie Irwin. Laura raised five and a half grand for the WellChild charity after running the marathon earlier this year.
Laura's response to the situation
Laura expressed her frustration, stating, "I had an official Just Giving page and then there are scammers that are sucking people in saying 'oh yeah we're still trying to fundraise' and that is so terrible." She urged her fans to block and report the scammers to the police.
