Jacqueline Jossa Reprises Role of Lauren Branning
Fans of EastEnders were thrilled when Jacqueline Jossa made her return to Albert Square earlier this year as the iconic Lauren Branning. And now, it has been revealed that Jossa will be making another comeback to Walford in the new year.
But She Won't Be Alone
Lauren Branning's return is not the only exciting comeback in store for EastEnders viewers. Penny Branning, Lauren's cousin, will also be making a reappearance after a 15-year absence.
Paris to Walford
In upcoming episodes, Lauren and Penny, played by Kitty Castledine, will find themselves in Paris. After recent events, they make the decision to return to Walford together. But when Penny arrives back in the Square, Lauren is nowhere to be seen.
A Complicated History
Penny Branning, the daughter of Jack and Selina Branning, first appeared in Walford in 2008. However, her time in the Square was short-lived as her mother decided to move to France, taking Penny with her. Over the years, Penny has had a strained relationship with her father, Jack, but has made occasional visits to Walford.
A Heartbreaking Injury
In a tragic turn of events, Penny was paralyzed from the waist down after being intentionally hit by a drug dealer's car, severing her spine. Her last mention on the show was in February 2020.
What's Next for Penny?
As Penny returns to the Square, viewers will be left wondering how she will be welcomed back and what has happened to Lauren. Will Penny find her place in Walford once again?
