LEGACIES fans who were keen for the supernatural series to return were left disappointed after watching the season three premiere.
The much anticipated return of the The Originals spin-off soon turned to ‘anger’ after a “terrible” season premiere.
Legacies follows Hope Mikaelson a descendant of some of the most powerful vampire, werewolf, and witch bloodlines.
It’s set two years after the events of The Originals and sees Hope attending the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, which provides training to supernatural to help them control their abilities and impulses.
Season three of The CW drama opened with Hope out of action, leaving her classmates to battle the big, bad monsters on their own.
Chad accidentally summons not one, but two monsters – Nimue and the Green Knight – who are both looking for the powerful sword Excalibur.
The catch is only a “worthy” warrior – she means someone with royal blood – can wield the sword against the Green Knight.
Many of the students tried without fail to removed Excalibur from its stone until surprisingly Rafael turned up to save the day and killed the Green Knight.
Also in the episode, the Necromancer tries to restore Landon’s soul into his body, so he could consume some black magic and when he did he tried to wake Hope up with a kiss.
Hope’s body must’ve senses something was amiss and just kept sleeping.
But fans were most annoyed with the episode’s twist which saw Chad suddenly die on a walk with Alyssa after he started vomiting some kind of black slime.
Afraid for her own life, Alyssa decides to pledge her allegiance to the Necromancer, saying she is his “eternal acolyte.”
Fans of the show could not believe all the ‘twists and turns’ of the season three premiere and took to Twitter to vent their frustration.
“This show will fail as long as they continue to center it around a mediocre character like Landon. Period,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another added: “Anyone remember them saying the last ten minutes of that legacies episode was going to make everyone cry…well plot twist their going to be the ones crying after we all stop watching this stupid little show and it gets cancelled.”
A third said: “I’m so mad this was terrible.”
And a fourth commented: “SO DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED.”
