Lenny Henry's Weight Loss Journey
Lenny Henry, the 65-year-old comedian, has recently unveiled the secrets behind his remarkable three stone weight loss transformation. During an interview with Chris Evans on Virgin Radio, Lenny credited his weight loss to practicing yoga and making significant changes to his diet. He shared, "I do yoga, I don’t eat what I used to. My family was… ‘if you leave anything, you’re sleeping outside’. So we used to have to eat everything mum put on your plate."
Embracing a Healthier Lifestyle
When discussing his fitness routine, Lenny mentioned that he started working out while filming a series. He explained, "We’d do training in the morning and more training in the evening. We had six weeks of rehearsals and by the end of that six weeks I’d lost a stone. I thought, ‘I might as well carry on doing this’." Lenny emphasized the importance of monitoring his diet and exercise habits to achieve his weight loss goals.
Stepping Down from Comic Relief
Aside from his weight loss journey, Lenny recently announced that he will be stepping down from hosting Comic Relief after 39 years. In a statement, he expressed his decision to pass on the hosting duties to allow for new faces to lead the charitable event. Lenny will continue as the Honorary Life President of Comic Relief, a role he has held since 2017.
Looking Ahead
As Lenny bids farewell to hosting Comic Relief, speculation arises about who will take on his role. While his replacement has not been announced, familiar co-hosts like Davina McCall, David Tennant, Paddy McGuinness, and Maya Jama may step into the main hosting position. Richard Curtis, the co-founder of Comic Relief, expressed excitement about new and familiar faces leading the event into the future.
