FURIOUS BBC Breakfast viewers have slammed presenter Naga Munchetty for an “awful” live blunder she made on Friday morning.
The TV host – who appeared alongside co-star Charlie Stayt – appeared to forget where Northern Irish town Bangor was situated.
Naga, 47, left viewers at home livid after introducing a segment about the town, which is soon to be updated to ‘city’ status.
The star made a blunder twice as she described the seaside town, as she stumbled over the words “Northern Ireland“.
Listing off a number of towns that will soon be called cities, Naga said: “Bangor, in County Down and… in Northern Ireland.”
As she went to welcome presenter Charlotte Gallagher live in Bangor, she made the error again as she failed to say the country.

“Now our correspondent Charlotte Gallagher is in Bangor in Northern, in,” Naga stumbled over her words, looking confused.
“She’s in Bangor for us this morning. Charlotte, morning to you and you look gorgeous there this morning.”
While she may have thought she’d gotten away with the blunder, dozens of viewers flooded Twitter in fury over the mistake.
“Naga doesn’t know what country Bangor’s in?” one viewer kicked off. “Get this awful double act off my daytime TV.”
A second fumed: “Naga caught off guard this morning and clearly doesn’t know there’s a Bangor in Northern Ireland too.”
“What’s happened here? Did the prompter read Bangor, Wales instead of Northern Ireland?” a third chimed in. “A few mistakes.”
Other viewers were agitated by how Bangor was pronounced by Naga and her co-stars, and went on to correct them both.
“It’d be nice if BBC News could pronounce the name of our city correctly too,” one fumed. “It’s not Banger.”
While a second helped: “It’s Bangor as in bang-gor, not Banger.”
A third joked: “My northern Irish wife is getting very upset about how Bangor is being repeatedly pronounced wrong on BBC Breakfast.”
It comes after Naga was accused of using a ‘slur’ against Eurovision during Friday’s edition of BBC Breakfast.
Naga said: “The UK’s entry Sam Ryder is up there among the favourites. Now, here is us predicting, what do we know?”
They then introduced David Sillito via video link, and Naga put a controversial question to him.

She asked: “That was our speculation about how the voting would go, and I would not say it’s a fair process always, would you?”
David retorted: “I would say it is evidently fair, that’s an outrageous slur on poor Eurovision there, it is also entirely unpredictable.”
