ITV viewers were left swooning over hunky contestant Alex on Tuesday’s instalment – but couldn’t help point out something very frustrating about the player.

Tipping Point fans were left frustrated by Alex’s tactic on Tuesday’s episode

ITV viewers noticed Alex was chasing the mystery prize instead of building his prize pot

Alex, who was up against fellow competitors Rob and Freya, had managed to accumulate five counters during his solo cash-builder round.

However, it was Alex appeared to get side-tracked by chasing the mystery prize, instead of building his prize pot.

Things got off to a bad start for Alex, who failed to add anything to his money pot.

But instead of trying to catch up with Freya and Rob in the money stakes, Alex decided to focus on the mystery prize counter, hoping to secure a gift.

Viewers could not believe their eyes and called out the contestant for “throwing away” his chances.

One fan wrote: “Alex is throwing away his chance of winning by chasing the s*** mystery prize ffs!”

Another posted: “Stop going for the mystery you could have caught her up Alex.”

“Five wasted counters to get a kitchen mixer when there was a fair chance of going into the final round with that double,” a third frustrated viewer tweeted.

A fourth echoed: “Stop going for the mystery you could have caught her up Alex.”

Another sarcastically added: “Yep, that was worth the s*****y mystery, wasn’t it.”

Unfortunately Alex was the first contestant to be eliminated.

He told Ben after his exit: “Thank you so much. My nan loves this show so she’s going to be gutted but I’ve had so much fun and good luck to the other contestants.

Rob and Freya battled it out for a place in the final, but Freya fell at the last hurdle with her opponent taking the lead.

He failed to knock the jackpot counter out of the machine and refused to gamble.

He managed to walk away with a respectable £1,850 after failing to knock the jackpot counter down and refused to gamble.

Tipping Point airs at 4pm on weekdays on ITV.
