COST CUTTING

Loose Women’s Brenda stops heating home amid cost of living crisis

Brenda had been drafted in to take over the role of Mama Morton from Gemma Collins.

She was due to appear alongside an all-star cast including Casualty’s Lee Mead as Billy Flynn and Coronation Street’s Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart.

Gemma had to drop out of the UK tour of Chicago a week before opening night after picking up a knee injury.

Brenda was recently left devastated by her son Jamal’s sudden death.

Entrepreneur Jamal, 31, died holding Brenda’s hand in February after having a heart attack at home.

She revealed last month his death was caused by recreational drugs.

The Loose Women favourite said the news left her in shock but she is determined to raise awareness of the dangers of drug use in a bid to save lives.

She wrote: “I have sadly learned that the cause of Jamal’s devastating passing was due to cardiac arrhythmia caused by having taken recreational drugs and I wanted to address this to everyone who loved, admired, and respected my son.

“Since finding out the news I have been in a state of shock, and I’m still trying to process it, but it’s so important to me that I do address it as no mother or any loved one should have to go through what Jamal’s sister, Tanisha, and I have been through since he passed.”

Brenda warned that one bad decision can ruin lives and that drugs are scarily unpredictable.
