TV presenter opens up about her condition in new documentary

Lorraine Kelly, the popular TV presenter, has been forced to respond to a troll after sharing her diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Kelly discusses her condition in her new documentary, titled "Return To Lockerbie With Lorraine Kelly," which airs on Wednesday on ITV. The documentary follows Kelly's return to Lockerbie, the site of the Lockerbie Bombing terror attack, where she was one of the first journalists to arrive.

35 years later, Kelly discovers undiagnosed PTSD

After revisiting Lockerbie 35 years later, Kelly unlocked memories of undiagnosed PTSD. As a young reporter, Kelly witnessed the aftermath of the bomb planted on Pan Am Flight 103, which crashed in Lockerbie on December 21, 1988. The explosion resulted in the deaths of 259 people on board and 11 on the ground. Since then, Kelly has experienced flashbacks and nightmares related to the traumatic event.

Troll questions Kelly's diagnosis

In an interview with The Telegraph, Kelly discussed her PTSD from the Lockerbie Bombing, prompting a response from a troll on social media. The commenter expressed skepticism about Kelly's diagnosis, suggesting that others who were directly involved in the recovery efforts and the destruction in Lockerbie may have experienced more trauma. Kelly decided to confront the troll and explained that she always felt she had no right to have suffered any trauma compared to the bereaved, first responders, and the people of Lockerbie. However, through her documentary, she learned that PTSD is a normal response to such events.
