Lorraine Kelly says Katie Price should NEVER have been behind the wheel but hopes crash is the “wake up call she needs”.
The star, who is banned from driving, was rushed to hospital after her horror smash in Horsham, West Sussex, early yesterday morning.
She has today been charged by cops with driving while disqualified – which could leave her facing jail.
Speaking on her ITV show this morning, Lorraine said: “Her family are really worried about her.
“But she shouldn’t have been behind the wheel at all. She was lucky, but she shouldn’t have been by the wheel.
“She could have killed herself or someone else.
“I hope she gets the help that she clearly needs.
“Maybe this is a wake up call, but a really horrible one.”

The 43-year-old reality star was arrested for alleged drink and drug-driving in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Price rolled her 4×4 BMW down a country lane near her home and was described as being “in a bad way” by sources close to her.
Sussex Police have now charged the mum-of-five with driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
She has been remanded in custody and will appear at Crawley Remand Court later today.
A spokesman for the force said: “Katie Price, 43, of Worthing Road, Horsham, was charged with using a motor vehicle on a public place without third party insurance and driving whilst disqualified.
“She was remanded in custody and will appear at Crawley Remand Court on Wednesday (September 29).”
