Lorraine Kelly shocked viewers of her ITV daytime show when she threatened to quit live on air. The unexpected moment occurred during a chat with Good Morning Britain anchor Ben Shephard, 48, which took an unexpected turn.
A Christmas cracker joke gone wrong
During her daily preview of her chat show, Lorraine, 64, was about to share a "really bad" Christmas cracker joke. She asked Ben Shephard and co-host Susanna Reid, 52, "Why does Santa have three gardens?"
Unfortunately, before she could deliver the punchline, Ben interrupted with a joke of his own: "It's because he's got a hoe hoe hoe." The unexpected interruption left Lorraine stunned, and she jokingly threatened to quit her show, saying, "You've ruined it - I'll get my coat."
Susanna Reid steps in
Susanna Reid, equally surprised by Ben's interruption, scolded him, saying, "It's not a quiz." She then jokingly reminded him that he wasn't on his other ITV show, Tipping Point.
Ben defended himself, saying, "You forgot to tell me it's not a quiz. I am proud of myself for getting it so quickly." Lorraine then went on to retell the joke without any interruptions.
Backlash over Tipping Point's absence
In other news, fans of the game show Tipping Point were recently frustrated by its absence. However, the show's return date has now been revealed, much to the relief of its dedicated viewers.
