Lorraine show forced into last-minute presenter shake-up as star begs for help

ITV’S Lorraine show has been forced into chaos with a last-minute presenter switch-up.

Regular host Lorraine Kelly – who had a hoarse throat on Wednesday’s programme – today pleaded for help as she revealed she was unable to front the 60-minute episode.

Luckily for show fans, Dr Hilary will step in

Good Morning Britain anchors Kate Garraway, 55, and Ben Shephard, 48, transferred to her studio for their daily preview, 45 minutes before it was due to air.

Yet they were met with Lorraine, 63, holding a sign revealing her plight.

The message read: “I’ve lost my voice, Hilary can you take over?”

Luckily show medic Dr Hilary was on-hand to introduce what was coming up.

He told fans how he would be assisted by Dr Amir when the show begins at 9am.

Meanwhile Kate and Ben appeared tickled by the sign.

Kate quipped: “I’ll be like watching it on subtitles.”

Last month, Lorraine was also forced off screen.

It came as the popular Scottish presenter pulled out of hosting her Lorraine show due to illness at the last minute.

While Lorraine has had absences before, such as when she is on holiday, this was more sudden.

At the time, Kate informed viewers that her ITV co-star was unwell.

She said: “I think in almost a first in her 30 year plus history on breakfast TV she’s gone home.

“She’s not well. She’s got a bug. We’re wishing you very well, Lorraine.”

Lorraine later tweeted: “When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT!

“Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him!!!!!!”

Bosses brought in Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh at short notice to fill the gap and keep the show on air.

Kate told viewers at the time: “It’s a good job Ranvir didn’t say no to coming in and got herself out of bed, otherwise we wouldn’t have a show.”
