OFF the back of the success of this year’s Love Island, ITV has announced not one, but TWO more seasons of the show in 2023.
The return of the beloved winter version will kick start the New Year with a fresh batch of Islanders heading to South Africa.
ITV teased a new location and revealed the Islanders will be looking for love in a “villa of their dreams”.
Then only a few months later in summer 2023, Love Island will return to the infamous Majorca villa for another eight-week run.
ITV bosses explained it was a no-brainer to dish out two series of Love Island next year.
“Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer,” said Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and controller, ITV2.

“So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show.”
Love Island has dominated conversations across the country and created many long-term relationships, with four weddings and seven babies thanks to the show – and another on the way for 2017 stars Jess and Dom.
Love Island has been a ratings boon for ITV with the launch episode streamed 7.5million times and the series as a whole streamed 74million times.
Thanks to the likes of celebrity offspring Gemma Owen and Antigoni Buxton in the villa, this year’s series saw the biggest launch since 2019.
Its debut episode had 5million viewers across all platforms and is officially the most popular TV show for people aged between 16 and 34 years old.
Last year’s finalist Faye Winter said that without the reality show, she would never have had the chance to meet and fall in love with Teddy Soares.
“We know without Love Island our two worlds would never have met,” she said.
“We were put through tests which proved our connection was real and untouchable, showing the world that two opposites can attract.
“[We] are forever grateful to ITV, not only did it bring us together but also taught us so much about ourselves as individuals.”
Winter finalists Callum Jones and Molly Smith can not stop boasting about how happy they are, and credited Love Island with bringing them together.
“Love Island gave me the experience of a lifetime, the best memories that I will cherish forever, and of course, my soul mate,” Molly said.

Producers of the series said fans could expect plenty of “romances, bromances and everything in between” next year.
“After eight brilliant series, we are excited to be serving up two helpings of love in 2023 by kicking off in January at a stunning new villa in South Africa,” said Mike Spencer of Lifted Entertainment which produces Love Island.
