Love Island fans all have same complaint after boys win back girls with ‘cringey’ stunts

LOVE Island’s Will Young and Tom Clare may have won back their girls – but viewers may be a little harder to get on side.

The pair have been in the dog house (literally) on Love Island over the past two days after kissing other girls during their time in Casa Amor.

Jessie looked emotional as the group read out “13 Things I Love About You”

With Samie Elishi and Jessie Wynter both heartbroken after hearing everything that went in the days they were separated, the duo had to get grafting to get back in their good books.

But after just two days, they’ve achieved just that – with Tom pulling Samie aside and sharing his feelings with a poem, and Will getting the rest of the villa involved in a “flash mob style” declaration of love.

Tom was up first, writing a poem before pulling Samie for a chat and reading it aloud to her.

Will later recruited Lana to get the rest of the contestants involved, before taking Jessie up to the terrace.

Looking down at the rest of the group, Jessie was shocked to find everyone lined up, and one-by-one they yelled out a pre-written thing that Will loves about Jessie.

It ended with Will telling Jessie he was in love with her, causing them to kiss and make up.

But while the rest of the islanders cheered, viewers were a little more unimpressed, with some finding the big gestures ‘cringey’.

“All these poems and grand gestures make me cringe so hard,” wrote one.

A second: “This was so cringe and yet sweet at the same time.”

“Omg am i a bitty betty cause these grand gestures have made me cringe?,” added a third.

However, others were a bit more receptive to Will’s declaration, acknowledging the unique effort put into it.

“I didn’t want to see any type of forgiveness tonight, but Will’s little act was cute I can’t lie,” one said.

“How have I gone from nearly giving up on this series to nearly shedding tears over Will and Jessie?” said a second.

A third said: “Nahh sammie gna b real mad at tom for not putting the same effort as Will”

“Now THIS is cute, actions speak louder than words,” added another. “Tom said stuff but didn’t actually do anything, Will actually made an effort.”

Love Island airs weeknights at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
