IT’S fair to say that last night’s Love Island descended into a weep fest after Liberty and Jake quit the villa.
The pair decided to walk before Monday’s final saying they didn’t want to ruin the day after they dramatically split last night.
The exes, who coupled up on day one and became boyfriend and girlfriend, enjoyed a final date together on a luxury boat before they decided to leave the show together and go their separate ways.
But it was Lib’s best villa pal Kaz who has been praised by fans after she threw all of effort into supporting her heartbroken pal.
Viewers were left in tears when she slept outisde with Liberty, so she wouldn’t have to sleep alone.
Fans then called for the two women to be crowned this year’s winners, after their very emotional chat about the break-up.
As 21-year-old Liberty opened up about her split from water engineer Jake, the Brummie babe reflected on her journey in the villa and said: “I might not have found love, or the love that I thought I had at first.
“But I’ve found self-love and you can’t let someone… or fall in love with someone until you love yourself inside and out and I feel like Love Island has been that for me.”
Kaz then replied to her tearful friend: “You’re literally one of the strongest, most beautiful people I have ever met in my entire left.
“You may not have felt like you’ve found love but I’ve found love with you.
Love Island fans were quick to comment on the moving scenes, saying that the two BFFs were the “real winners” of Love Island.
One tweeted: “This episode has me emotional. friendship is everything…hope Kaz and Liberty stay friends forever.”
Another said: “Kaz and Liberty’s friendship is goals. I’d vote for them to win over any of the couples.”
While another said: “They need to change the rules just this once and let Kaz and Liberty win. Tyler can have an honourable mention.”
Last night saw Liberty and Jake return to the villa after their tear-jerking final date and announce they were leaving the show.
The former couple – nicknamed ‘Jiberty’ by fans – received a round of applause as they left the Majorcan pad together and there were more tears from the remaining couples.
