Viewers saw Luca’s face turn to thunder and demand producers drop him a new bombshell into the villa.

And later fans will see the fishmonger air his feelings to Gemma and Billy in a bid to discover the truth.

Once the films have aired, Luca pulls Gemma for a chat and says: “You were entertaining it” to which Gemma replies: “No I wasn’t”.

Luca then calls Billy over to the fire pit to join them and asks: Did you feel like she was flirting with you? to which Billy replies: “Yeah, it was just flirty banter.”

WHAT A GEM

Love Island's Gemma Owen used to do a surprising chore for ex Jacques

After catching Gemma out in a lie, she quickly chips in: “Did we have a flirty chat? Yes.”

Luca shoots back: “But just a minute ago you said you didn’t have a flirty chat, you literally said I wasn’t flirting.”

As the heated chat continues, Gemma insists: “I don’t think any lines have been crossed.”

It remains to be seen whether the latest development will dampen Gemma and Luca’s blossoming relationship.

The pair have already told each other that they are in love, but Gemma has made it clear she will not make Luca her boyfriend until she has the approval of her mum, Louise.

Gemma and Luca shared a sweet date last week, but fans were quick to spot a “savage” insult from the brunette beauty.

Fishmonger Luca said: “When we get out of here, obviously got to meet each other’s families.

“Spend a bit of time, stuff like that. Do you think I’d get on with them?”

Bringing up her football legend father, Gemma replied: “Yeah, you have got a similar humour to my dad to be fair.”

Fans immediately flocked to social media to comment on Gemma’s response – with many insisting it wasn’t a compliment.

One wrote: “Gemma saying Luca has similar humour to her dad is the most savage thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Cold blooded!”

Another said: “Gemma saying Luca has got the same sense of humour as her dad hahahaha gotta be one of the worst insults you could ever give a man.”

Someone else tweeted: “‘I think you’ve got the same sense of humour as my Dad’. That is possibly one of the biggest insults Gemma could have said to Luca.”

And a fourth added: “Gemma saying Luca has similar humour to her old man is not a compliment.”
