LOVE Island has been hit by hundreds of complaints over Gemma Owen’s age.
Concerned viewers were left horrified watching as the 19-year-old was pursued by Davide, 27, and have repeatedly contacted the broadcasting regulator.
On June 7th, 167 people complained as they watched Michael Owen’s daughter plant a kiss on the Italian hunk.
The age gap between the pair rang alarm bells amongst many, with one worried viewer commenting: “27 year old coupling up with a 19 year old, I’m calling Ofcom.”
“@Ofcom sort out love island this is disgusting,” added another.
A few days later a further 97 got in touch with OfCom as Gemma’s ex-boyfriend Jacques entered the villa and fans worked out she was just 16 when they dated.

The dressage rider was gobsmacked when the rugby player, 23, entered the villa and revealed they dated for eight months, a year and half ago.
Those watching at home quickly calculated how old she would have been at the time and took to Twitter to comment on it.
One person wrote: “Nah we need to write to Ofcom, Gemma’s age and ex are ruining it for me #LoveIsland.”
While someone else added: “According to the maths that these lot have presented, gemma was dating this guy at 16 when he was 20… OFCOM DO WHAT YOU WILL WITH THAT #LoveIsland.”
Fans have also claimed that at just 19-years-old, Gemma is “too young” to be on the show, due to the pressure it can cause.
But Michael told the Daily Mail he doesn’t get what all the fuss is about, as he was in the spotlight when he played for Liverpool at just 17.
He told the publication: “She has had two years more than I had to get ready for life in the public eye.
“Also, she’s a mature 19. She’s a bit like me in that regard.
“I was playing for Liverpool when I was 17, and having to make friends with 23, 24, 25-year-olds.”
Michael added: “The bottom line is, she’s an adult and I have to trust her to make sensible decisions.”
