Ella Thomas Reveals How She Managed to Check Instagram Despite Show's Strict Rules
Love Island star Ella Thomas has finally come clean about breaking a major rule on the hit reality show. In a recent interview on Capital XTRA, Ella revealed that she managed to check her social media accounts during filming, despite not having access to her phone.
Ella disclosed that she asked a driver to borrow their phone while she was being driven to film a segment outside of the villa. Taking advantage of being without a chaperone, Ella eagerly checked her Instagram after not having her phone for nearly seven weeks. She not only looked at her own follower count but also checked on her fellow Love Island cast members.
This revelation comes after rumors circulated since the last series of Love Island ended, suggesting that someone had access to a phone during filming. Ella's admission sheds light on how she was able to break the rules and sneak a peek at her social media.
Claims of Internet Access on Love Island
Ella Thomas isn't the only Love Island contestant to suggest that the show's strict rules may have been broken. Catherine Agbaje, another former islander, claimed that someone had access to the internet on another occasion.
Catherine alleged that when fellow contestant Medhi left the show, someone managed to go online using his phone. Although Catherine did not witness the incident herself, she stated that all the islanders were called in to address the situation.
However, a representative for Love Island denied Catherine's claims, insisting that the islanders do not have access to the internet or the outside world via their mobile phones while in the villa.
Strict Phone Rules on Love Island
Love Island contestants are allowed to have phones while in the villa, but their use is strictly limited. The phones can only be used to take pictures and receive texts related to challenges or dumpings. Access to social media, the internet, and the outside world is prohibited.
Ella Thomas's confession about breaking the show's rules by checking her social media during filming has stirred up discussion among Love Island fans. It remains to be seen if any further consequences will arise from her admission.
