Love Island star Gemma Owen opens up on ‘love hate’ relationship with famous dad Michael Owen

LOVE Island’s Gemma Owen opened up for the second time about her famous dad, Michael, saying they have ‘love hate relationship’.

The 19-year-old is the eldest of England football legend Michael Owen‘s four children with wife Louise.

Love Island’s Gemma Owen chatted to Jack Keating about their famous dads

Until this week, Gemma had not mentioned her famous dad but had a heart-to-heart with another celebrity offspring on Sunday’s show.

Gemma chatted to Ronan Keating’s son Jack, 23, in Casa Amor where he entered as one of six new lads.

“Are you close with your family? With your mum and dad?” Jack asked.

Gemma replied: “Yeah I am. I’m really close with mum.

“And I’m really close with my dad but we have a love-hate relationship.

“We’re really opposite, it’s a clash of personalities,” Gemma revealed.

Her admission comes after she opened up about not wanting to be ‘official’ with Luca Bish while in the villa.

Gemma, 19, dropped the bombshell in the newly opened Casa Amor when she was being grilled on her feelings for Luca.

Fans thought things between Gemma and Luca, 23, are a pretty good at the moment but things could possibly change after Gemma’s revelations.

Chatting to some of the new boys, Gemma was asked how things were with going with Luca and whether they were ‘officially a couple’.

“I wouldn’t say we’re official, and I would not be official while we’re in here,” Gemma revealed.

“I’m a big family person and it would be important to introduce someone to my family and get their take on him.

“And I would want to meet their family.”

The new boys agreed, “you need to see what the relationship outside the villa.”

The six new girls have joined the original boys in the main villa, while the six new lads have joined the OG girls in Casa Amor.

One girl has her eye on Luca already.

Makeup artist Mollie Salmon, 23, pulled Luca over for a chat.

Desperate to know where she stands, Mollie asks and Luca replies: “I’m semi-closed, yeah…

“But you just don’t know what’s happening over there….Listen, if someone were to come in here. It would take something special, and you don’t know.”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
