Ron and Lana have not had the easiest of starts to their relationship

The couple may have made their relationship official in the villa, but it hasn’t been without its ups and downs – with many questioning if Ron was playing a game with Lana to be crowned winner.

Now, Lana’s mum Rachel, who has headed to South Africa to visit the villa ahead of Monday’s final, is set to quiz the 25-year-old Islander.

Rachel, 50, a script supervisor for Hollyoaks, told The Mirror: “I’m going to tell him to look after my daughter.

“Every mum wants their daughter to be treated like a princess. If Ron adores her like her family does, then that’s good for me.”

Recently, Ron, who is a financial advisor, was forced to defend his true intentions towards the make-up artist as the couple did not get off to the best of starts.

Rachel was forced to witness her daughter in tears as Ron’s head was constantly turned by new arrivals.

But now, the pair appear to be going from strength to strength. Speaking of watching her daughter in an emotional rollercoaster, she added: “I just want to give her a hug, I have been wanting to do it for eight weeks. We have had quite a few crying sessions at home.

“She always comes out of it a little bit stronger. To progress in life we have to have those moments when we need to cry.”

But it’s not just Ron’s relationship with Lana that has been brought into question, so too was his meddling.

Casey was forced to pull Ron to one side after he found out Ron had told Rosie that Casey was more concerned being around the guys, which, according to him, was not the best preparation for the outside world.

But Ron was quick to point out that Rosie had taken his words the wrong way.

He said: “I never said you prioritise your time – I said, you like being around Will and Tom. It’s being made into a massive thing. I’m not going to let it become a big thing.”

He added: “She was basically talking to Lana and obviously I was there, the question about [being] ‘one-sided’ was in her head. I’m like, don’t deep the question.”
