Scott made it very clear about how things were left with Abi

Scott and Abi were coupled up in the villa, but failed to get a romance off the ground.

The footballer admitted it had been forced, leaving Abi noticeably upset.

He then proceeded to defend Catherine, telling viewers not to leave her nasty messages after she dumped him for Elom on the show.

Scott had been left gutted when she brought Elom back from Casa Amor and he failed to find a connection after.

Quizzed by Maya Jama if they could rekindle things, Scott said:  “At the moment we get on as friends really well, there’s nothing different to that at the moment.

“I don’t know about a date just yet. I was sort over that situation in the villa. You can never say never, but, for me at the moment I’m sort of done with it.”

Those watching at home rushed to comment on the interview, with one person writing: “This aftersun interview with scott and abi is so awkward.”

A second said: “I actually feel so bad for Abi, that looked so awkward for her, I know she regrets even entertaining Scott’s flirting to begin with lol.”

While a third added: “This Abbie and Scott post villa interview is soooo awkward.”

On tonight’s Love Island Mitchel Taylor and Ella Barnes were dumped – just a day before the finale.

It leaves Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble, Jess Harding and Sammy Root, Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki and Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas to battle it out to be crowned the winners of Love Island 2023 and take home the £50,000 prize.

The Love Island 2023 summer final airs on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm on July 31.
