Anton’s followers were gobsmacked by his appearance and speculated “fillers or Botox” may be behind his new look.

One fan wrote: “Wtf is wrong with the face.”

Anton was forced to respond, writing: “Mate it’s 5.30 in the morning. I’m posing and just done an hour cardio. Sorry if I look a bit tired.”

However, other fans also agreed with Anton’s changing appearance, with one posting: “I know what you mean, looks as if it’s fillers or Botox.”

Another commented: “Looks a bit swollen.”

A third shared: “Wow much work done on your face.”

The TV star and fitness fanatic jumped on social media to defend himself, writing: “I think I have the right to defend myself when been accused of things.

“But anyway you have a lovely day.”

Earlier this year, Anton has denied having surgery on his face after startling fans with a new look.

He posted a picture of himself on Instagram where he looked dramatically different, but insisted “I’m honest. I will say if I have, I don’t care.”

The handsome Scot, one of the stars of the hit 2019 series of the show, looked chiselled in the new snap.

Speaking to Fubar Radio’s Access All Areas, Anton said: “Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of hate and it’s a lot to do with my face.

“A lot of people are accusing me of having work done to my face.”

He told hosts Stephen Leng and Bobby Norris: “I genuinely haven’t had work done to my face.

“I’m honest, I will say if I have, I don’t care. If I want to have work done to my face, it’s my face, it’s my body. And if that makes me feel good about myself and I want to do that, good.

“It’s my life, I can do what I want. If you want to go out and drink every night and that makes you feel good about yourself, go do that.

“If you want to go to the gym, you go do that, that’s your life.”

Anton, who disabled comments on the picture, said: “It’s not our business what other people think of us, and we can’t control what other people think of us.

“That’s it. I can go to my Instagram and I can say: ‘Guys, I’ve not had this work done to my face’, but they’re either going to believe it or not going to believe it.

“I can’t change their opinion on that and that is ultimately what they think. So why waste the energy?”
