OVER the years Love Island’s Meet The Parents episodes have proved to be one of the most popular with viewers.

And fans of the ITV2 dating show will be happy to know that it’s just around the corner – and this year Gemma Owen‘s father Michael is set to make an appearance in the iconic villa.

From famous dads to engagement announcements, it never fails to disappoint viewers when the family surprise contestants in the villa – and fans can’t wait to see what happens this year.

Danni Dyer received a video call from her parents before she won Love Island in 2019, alongside Jack Fincham.

EastEnders star Danny Dyer gave Jack his seal of approval as he said: “He’s lovely… you know what, you’ve found a right proper geezer in there.”

As Jack joined the call, he admitted to Danny he was “nervous to meet you,” but Danny reassured him that their connection was “a beautiful thing.”

However despite being the winning couple, pair split and both have one child with other partners.

Belle Hassan’s dad was credited for his roles in films The Football Factory and The Business, as well as appearing in Game of Thrones.

Belle rushed to hug her dad when he entered the villa, while her mum joked: “Do I get a cuddle?”

The blonde bombshell once said of her famous dad: “He is my link to the famous world.

“He is a very supportive dad, he is like my best friend and is always there for me.”

Anton’s mum entered the villa with a razor as Anton famously admitted his mum shaved his bum.

She tells Belle: “I have a wee present for you” before handing over the razor.

And Belle joked: “I’ll need that!”

But, the pair soon split as Belle was reportedly fed up with Anton’s partying ways.

Curtis’ dad Adrian is an experienced Ballroom and Latin international choreographer and coach.

As he entered the villa, Adrian told Curtis: “I’ve seen some of your dance moves, no the ones I taught you though.”

His mum Debi Pritchard is a pilates instructor and his brother AJ is a professional dancer in Strictly Come Dancing.

The family championed Curtis’ connection with Maura saying: “you just gel because she’s got fire and character”, but the couple split a year later.

Greg’s mum showed her approval with his son’s connection with Amber by gifting her a lucky Irish shamrock.

Amber was overjoyed and admitted: “I really wasn’t expecting it.”

Greg’s mum called Amber “so cute” and “honest looking.”

Greg and Amber went on to win Love Island in 2019 and shared the prize money, however they split shortly after.

Amber’s family flew in from Wales and she couldn’t help but break down into tears as she hugged her parents when they entered the villa.

Amber revealed in the beach hut: “I’m literally speechless and they were both just crying their eyes out and I was crying it was just so emotional.”

Her parents informed Amber how the whole of Wales was rooting for her.

Amber won Love Island in 2017 alongside Kem Cetinay, but even though the pair split, Amber made her West End debut in the Dolly Parton musical 9 to 5.

Kady broke down after a surprise phone call from her mum and sobbed: “I miss you so much.”

Little did she know her mum and grandad were making their way to the villa.

Full of tears, Kady admitted not speaking to her mum everyday was very hard.

Her mum called Scott Thomas “a lovely boy” despite their arguments in the villa and Scott and Kady came third.

Molly-Mae Hague’s mum reveals she’s engaged (2019)

Molly-Mae’s mum and sister surprised her in the villa and her mum joked “he’s too good for you”, which Molly replied “just because you want him.”

But, her mum had another surprise in store as she hinted to her daughter: “Something’s changed about me.”

And as Molly-Mae noticed the ring on her mum’s finger, she celebrated and yelled “finally!”

Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury were runner’s up in 2019 and are still together.

Olivia burst into tears when her mum and nan surprised her in the villa.

Talking about Olivia’s connection with Alex, her mum said: “You can see how you’re on the same wavelength and you can just see the connection you just know. We’ve been watching all of it and I just know.”

Alex won the family over with his charming manner and called her mum “an absolute sort.”

Olivia and Alex got married in 2018 and have their own television reality series Olivia & Alex: Happily Ever After?
