Before his stint in the villa Alex worked as an A&E doctor, and has continued to do after the programme part-time.

Alex, who boasts 1.9m followers on Instagram, has used his platform to share his knowledge and regularly appears on TV shows to talk about mental health.

He is also the Youth Mental Health Ambassador within the Department for Education.

But now he can add radio presenter to his CV as he has landed a show – Uplifting Classics with Dr Alex George – on Classic FM.

The star took to Instagram to share the news.

Alex wrote: “*ANNOUNCEMENT* Im back on @classicfm with a brand new series!!!

“UPLIFTING CLASSICS every Sunday at 9pm for the next 6 weeks.

“No matter how you are feeling, high or a little low, join me for an hour of amazing classical music and motivational tips for the week ahead.

“Thank you @global for having me back, gratitude is on full

💙
MAM I’M ON THE RADIO.”

Alex, who is originally from Carmarthen, Wales, studied medicine at Exeter University.

He has used his platform to open up about mental health.

In 2020, Dr George gave the general public valuable insight into a hospital’s ICU as he and millions of other NHS workers were on the frontline battling coronavirus.

He has also continued to promote awareness of mental health after his younger brother Llyr took his own life at the age of 19.

It prompted Prime Minister Boris Johnson to appointed Alex as a Youth Mental Health Ambassador in February 2021.

Alex shot to fame in 2018 on Love Island.

He entered the villa on day one and was coupled up with Samira Mighty.

The doctor was paired with a number of girls including Ellie Brown and Grace Wardle.

He narrowly missed out on a place in the final and left the villa alongside Alexandra Cane – things didn’t work out between the pair.
