LOVE Island’s Hugo Hammond broke down on air and sobbed as two of the villa’s big characters were sent packing.
The 24-year-old PE teacher had an emotional episode that saw his romantic advances politely but firmly knocked back by Chloe Burrows.
He was also forced to say goodbye to “best pal” Aaron Francis after he was voted out by viewers alongside Lucinda Strafford.
Hugo was in floods of tears saying “Aaron was my best mate here and, oh f*** I’m really gonna miss him.”
However, some fans said they didn’t realise they were that close and asked why it was he was so upset.
One wrote: “I didn’t even see Hugo & Aaron talk?? Stop the crocodile tears.”
However, others were more sympathetic, writing: “Anybody else lose it when Hugo started crying??”

It was Aaron who urged Hugo to make his disastrous move on Chloe, which delivered one of the most awkward moments of the series.
He told her: “I’ve just got to double check that… so obviously I know what your type is but, as we know, this place moves mad…”
Fluffing her hair and looking awkward, Chloe told him: “I just think, what we’ve been through and where I’m at, I just feel like, for me, it wouldn’t be romantic because of how close we are.
“I wouldn’t want to ruin that and I just don’t know if there would be something and I don’t want to force it. If it’s not happened naturally.”
Cutting in, Hugo, 22, quickly agreed: “It’s not worth the risk. And if it hasn’t happened naturally by now, then it’s probably not going to happen, is it?”
