LOVE Island star Hugo Hammond has been left heartbroken following the death of his beloved dog.
The 25-year-old described the chocolate Labrador, called Mocha, who he has had since childhood, as his “best friend” in a touching tribute.
Sharing a series of pictures of himself alongside the gorgeous pooch, devastated Hugo told his fans: “Today is a sad day in the Hammond house as we said farewell to our perfect choccy lab, Mocha
“She had so much love to give and just loved being near people
Although, the worst guard dog ever as she never barked.”
He went on to describe everything he will miss about her – including the cuddles, sharing food with her and “her lovely ooglie bits under her neck”.
Hugo told how she divided her time with the whole family and snuggled up to them all in the evenings.
Concluding his thoughts, Hugo said: “Mostly, I’ll just miss having my best friend around for a chat and a cuddle. The good days, the bad days (there have been plenty), she knew when I was sad and was still there wagging her tail letting me know everything is going to be ok and for that, I’ll never be more grateful.
“I’ll miss you choccy, rest easy pup x”
Hugo – who rose to fame on Love Island last summer – often shared pictures of himself with Mocha on Instagram.
He even used a picture of himself with her on his Tinder profile picture.
Hugo was unlucky in love on the ITV2 dating show – walking away from the villa single after brutally swiping at fellow contestant Amy Day.
He finally coupled up with the bombshell after making his way through four other girls in the villa, including Kaz, Chloe, AJ and Georgia.
Despite enjoying time as a couple on the show, the PE teacher described their relationship as “tragic” in their exit interview – leaving viewers shocked.
