LOVE Island’s Jacques O’Neill took a major swipe at Paige Thorne and Adam Collard’s romance – hinting that her mum prefers him.

Rugby player Jacques O’Neill – who was struggling with his mental health and ADHD, so decided to walk away from the ITV2 show – shared a snap of his fellow Islanders on social media.

Jacques and co-star Luca Bish, 23, took part in an Instagram Live and broke his silence on Paige and Adam’s relationship.

A fan asked Jacques what he thought of the Welsh paramedic and the Geordie hunks romance.

Starting to laugh, Jacques replied: “They seem like they get on really really well, they seem happy together.”

Fishmonger Luca nodded and said: “I’m glad the mum approves.”

Jacques cheekily responded: “Yeah well her mum seems really fond of Adam.

“So I’m sure the Sunday dinner will go really well.”

It comes after Paige’s mum Samantha made it clear that she wasn’t a fan of Adam.

During the Meet The Parents episode,  Paige gushed about their amazing time together, she asked her mum what she thought of the Geordie hunk.

After a long pause, Samantha explained that she wasn’t “buying it” and didn’t think Adam was genuine.

Paige later moaned in the Beach Hut: “My mum and her savage comments, I knew she would be… I was just like “Oh for God’s sake!””

Jacques decided to quit the villa the same week love rival Adam Collard entered – issuing a statement saying he regretted how he spoke to Paige Thorne, who he was coupled up with.

“The first two weeks of my experience was probably the happiest I’ve been in a very long time,” he said.

“On the other hand, the last two weeks was definitely the worst I’ve ever felt in my life.

“I was finding myself feeling worse and worse every day and if I didn’t leave when I did I was scared I would never have got back to my normal self.”
