Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri has reached the final week of the ITV2 show
The Celeb Report can reveal she was best friends with Georgia Steel who was a huge hit in Love Island 2018
Tasha and Georgia, 24, were pals at Thirsk Secondary School in Yorkshire and part of a local dance troupe.
Photos seen by The Celeb Report show the teenagers giggling and laughing together before their high school friendship soured.
A pal said: “Tasha and Georgia were honestly inseparable and just best friends throughout school.
“They loved drama and dance. They pushed themselves to be the best.
“Things got a bit competitive towards Year 11 and then when Tasha got accepted into a better dance college than Georgia things turned bad.
“They were so young when this happened. And it’s sad because everyone back home is really proud of how far they’ve come and we’re all cheering them on.
“Stuff happens when you’re young but we hope they patch it up because they could be a huge support for each other.”
After studying for her GCSEs Tasha, who is partially deaf, attended Ofsted’s ‘outstanding’ rated CAPA College and later graduated from the Creative Academy in 2019, with a 1st class honours degree in Dance Performance.
Creative Academy manager George Kirkham shared his excitement for Tasha, who uses a hearing aid, whe she signed up for Love Island.
He said: “We will all be voting for Tasha each week.
“I remember this one time we were rehearsing for a big project and the tape that holds her cochlear implant in came off and mid way through dancing she lost all hearing – rather than stop she powered through with us all cheering her on.
“This was such a break through moment for Tasha and I am extremely proud of the young woman she has become.”
Georgia attended sixth form at York College, later winning a place at London’s Academy of Live and Recorded Arts.
The prestigious academy boasts a star studded alumni, including EastEnders actress Tanya Franks and comedian Miranda Hart.
Georgia made headlines in 2018 when her outgoing personality in Love Island rubbed some of the others girls up the wrong way, with Megan Barton Hanson branding her attention-seeking and Ellie Brown calling her an “ugly c***” in an explosive row.
She has since claimed producers wanted her wear thong bikinis in the villa while banning others.
The Celeb Report has contacted Love Isand and Georgia Steel’s rep for comment.
