Love Island’s Teddy is first star to land huge primetime ITV show as he signs up to STRIP NAKED on TV

LOVE Island star Teddy Soares has landed a primetime ITV show as he signs up to STRIP totally naked on telly.

The reality star – who left the Majorcan villa alongside girlfriend Faye Winter – is the first of this year’s islanders to bag a big-time TV gig.

Teddy, 26, has signed up to strip off in Strictly The Real Full Monty – which will focus on raising awareness for life-saving cancer checks.

Men and women are set to join forces for the second year in a row in a Strictly Come Dancing themed strip-tease dance extravaganza.

Teddy is set to star on the show alongside fellow villa favourite Demi Jones, who revealed she was battling thyroid cancer earlier this year.

Demi, 23, had to have a golf-ball sized tumour removed in April 2020, leaving her with a two-inch scar across her neck.

ITV said of the upcoming performance: “Ashley Banjo is back with a band to lead a brand-new line-up of brave celebrities ready to take the strip to a whole new level.

“Bringing old glitz and glamour to the all-new super-sized strip, this is a Monty glitter ball dance extravaganza,” they added of the Blackpool show.

The broadcasters have told audiences to “expect the unexpected” from the twelve new celebrity recruits in the “most ambitious Full Monty yet”.

While sources have suggested that Teddy is part of the star-studded line up, his agent and ITV did not reply to The Celeb Report’s request for comment.

Teddy won hearts on this year’s Love Island thanks to his rocky romance with co-star Faye, 26 – landing him in third place on the show.

The couple appear to have moved on from their drama on the show – which saw Faye explode into a foul-mouthed rant sparking 25,000 complaints.

Faye berated, mocked, and screamed in the scenes – which became the most complained about Love Island moment in the show’s history.

The star admitted that she was ‘deeply embarrassed’ about footage that saw her screaming at Teddy during the now notorious ‘Movie Night’ fight.

Earlier this month, the happy couple were seen enjoying each other’s company as they hit the dance floor at pal Liberty Poole’s birthday.

Faye and Teddy also looked loved up on the red carpet, as they made their National Television Awards debut together last week.

His loving girlfriend will no doubt be watching for the sidelines as Teddy takes to the stage to strip later this year in the Full Monty extravaganza.

Fellow islander Demi will have no doubt chosen to take part due to her personal connection – having been diagnosed with cancer last year.

The reality star, 22, tearfully told her fans she had thyroid cancer on Instagram before undergoing the first of two operations.

DEMI’S CANCER BATTLE

She told The Zeze Mills Show: “When I first found out it could be cancerous, I was in shock and I was crying because I went on social media, and I shouldn’t have done that because I hadn’t even told my family yet.

“I don’t even know why, I can’t even tell you because my head was scrambled and I was like ‘Oh my God, guys!'”

The diagnosis was even more of a shock given Demi had been told the lump was harmless.

The coronavirus pandemic led to months of delayed appointments and Demi said she had to push doctors for further tests.

She said: “If I’d listened to the doctors then I might be sitting here now not knowing I had cancer inside me.

“I’ve felt scared and angry. I went for a coffee the other day with a friend and said ‘Why me? I don’t know anyone my age who has got cancer’. But I’m lucky, my cancer is treatable.”

While rare, thyroid cancer diagnoses have increased in the past 20 years, and it is now the most common form of cancer in women aged between 15 and 30.

Often symptomless, it happens when DNA changes in the cells in the thyroid gland at the base of the neck, causing them to grow uncontrollably and produce a lump.

THE REAL FULL MONTY

Last year, celebrities got together to strip off ON ICE as ITV took The Real Full Monty to the next level to raise cancer awareness.

Love Islanders Shaughna Phillips and Chris Hughes were among the stars, which also included Jake Quickenden and Dame Jenni Murray.

Jamie Lomas, Perri Kiely, Gareth Thomas and Dr Zoe Williams also took part in the chilly strip-tease on TV.
