Luca Bish takes swipe at winners Ekin-Su and Davide days before Gemma Owen split

LUCA Bish, 23, appeared to take a swipe at co-stars Ekin-Su and Davide the day before his split from girlfriend Gemma Owen.

Luca and Gemma, 19, ended their relationship this week, three months after appearing on Love Island.

The dressage rider said it was a ‘difficult decision’ to end her romance with the former fishmonger who she was last pictured with at the start of the month.

Appearing at the ITV Palooza! the day before the split was announced, Luca said he’d most want to go on a double date with co-stars Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page.

He said: “I think throughout the series, it was always like us four together when we could be.

“Listen, they are joined at the hip, everywhere they go, they’ve moved in with each other they’re going from strength to strength and credit to them.”

Then turning his attention to series winners Ekin-Su, 28, and Davide, 27, Luca appeared to make a dig at their new TV show.

The pair have been recording a travel series for ITV2 called Ekin-Su & Davide: Homecomings in which they return to Italy and Turkey to explore their family roots.

Asked whether he’d work with Gemma on something similar in the future, Luca said: “If an opportunity arises, we will always assess, but we will never say no, but when we get time together we want it to be off camera if anything, and enjoy our time.”

Gemma and Luca were runners up on Love Island over the summer, losing out to Davide and Ekin-Su.

Gemma, who is the daughter of footballer Michael, announced the news on Instagram this week that they’d split. Luca did not share the statement.

She wrote: “I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn’t an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for both of us right now. “Many of you have been on this journey with us from the beginning and I want to thank you for your continued support as a new chapter starts.”
