Close Call with Sepsis
A popular Made in Chelsea star recently shared a harrowing experience with sepsis, a life-threatening condition that nearly took his life. The reality TV personality, Sam Vanderpump, opened up about his terrifying health scare, which was triggered by the failure of his liver and kidneys.
A Terrifying Ordeal
Sam Vanderpump, who joined the E4 reality show in 2024, recounted how he was rushed to the hospital in December after contracting sepsis following the failure of his liver and kidneys. What initially seemed like flu-like symptoms and back pain turned into a life-threatening situation that left him fighting for his life.
A Brush with Death
Reflecting on his ordeal, Sam revealed the gravity of the situation, stating that he feared for his life and didn't think his body could withstand the crisis. Doctors informed him that he was the "sickest" patient on the ward at the time, emphasizing the severity of his condition.
Lucky to be Alive
Sam's girlfriend, Alice Yaxley, played a crucial role in saving his life by acting swiftly and calling emergency services. Doctors mentioned that if she had delayed her call by just 24 hours, Sam might not have survived. His underlying liver and kidney disease, which had been dormant for 28 years, suddenly became life-threatening.
Raising Awareness
Following his release from the hospital on Christmas Eve, Sam has made it his mission to raise awareness about his condition and sepsis. With the support of his family, including his reality TV star aunt Lisa Vanderpump, Sam is determined to shed light on the importance of recognizing and addressing such health issues.
