Married At First Sight star Jay Howard has opened up about her separation from husband Luke Worley.
Strong partnership comes to an end
Throughout the latest series of the E4 show, Jay and Luke were considered one of the strongest couples. However, their journey on the show came to an abrupt end when Luke got into a heated argument with Jordan Gayle.
Jay and Luke continue to be good friends, but their romantic relationship didn't stand the test of time.
Inside the final days of their romance
During an appearance on the Sophie Kasaei Unmasked Podcast, Jay revealed the details of the final days of their relationship.
She explained that after spending a weekend together at her place following a holiday, their communication began to falter.
"It was when I came home and he came up for a weekend, and when he came back down the communication were just not there," Jay said.
She further added, "Originally, it'd always be me. I'd wake up in the morning and send him a message. I wouldn't get a reply for hours on end, like. I'd ring him and he'd be like 'I'm busy I'll ring ya later'; he wouldn't."
Realizations and doubts
It became clear to Jay that she was spending more time talking to her friend and co-star Rozz Darlington, who was out of the country at the time, than she was with Luke.
This made her question if she was getting enough from her partner.
After four days of not hearing from Luke, Jay decided to confront him about the lack of communication. She expressed her concerns, saying, "It's not working, I feel like I'm not getting anything from ya'."
Remaining on good terms
Despite their relationship ending due to communication issues, Jay emphasized that she still cares deeply for Luke and has no ill feelings towards him.
In the end, Jay concluded that while Luke loved her as a person, he wasn't in love with her.
